MONTAGNAC's village

The village, which became Montagnac-Montpezat in 1974 during the creation of the lake of Sainte - Croix,  has 326 inhabitants, a small school, local shops, a Post office, several artisans, a campsite, two hotels-restaurants, hundred of hectares of artificial "truffières" in addition to the natural truffières in the scrubland.

It is situated on D211, between Riez and the Lake of Quinson, 8 km from the lake of Sainte - Croix, in the heart of the Regional natural reserve of Verdon.

Montagnac - Montpezat is a small quiet village, with narrow streets,

a wonderful climate, which nothing disturbs apart its truffles market

which is held every year in January.

It is the village's major event which contributes to its fame: to such an extent that it is sometimes known as Montagnac Truffles...

To see: the ruins of Montpezat's castle XII and XV °.
